Sambhar Sadham(Saravana Bhavan Style)

One pot meals always make my cooking job more  easier.I prefer it when compared to elaborate meals for  lunch.Almost all weekdays I end up at cooking some one pot meal. But I see to it that the meal that I cook makes a complete meal with all nutritions in it.In this lane Sambhar Sadham/Rice is my family's most favourite one pot meal.

Cook this one pot meal which tastes similar to Hotel Saravana Bhavan ...

Capsicum Chutney/Bell pepper chutney

I love to cook bell peppers. They have a unique taste and they taste good in whatever method we make. And chutneys are the best way to make the kids eat vegetables.I make chutney and sandwich them between wheat bread and serve them for a busy breakfast...

While selecting capsicum keep the following in mind.

The one with 4 bumps are sweeter in taste and they can be eaten raw. They have lots of seeds.(Female variety of Capsicum)
The one with 3 bump is good for cooking(male variety of Capsicum)

Millets ven Pongal/Thinai Arisi Pongal

After knowing the health benefits of millets I try to replace it for  rice in my meal. After the positive results of Millets dosa I tried millets pongal too.The taste didn't differ and unless u tell one cannot make out it is millets pongal. It also resembles same as that of the normal ven pongal.

Considering the health benefits I had used minimum amount of oil and had avoided the use of ghee.

Rava Ladoo/Rava Laddu

Rava ladoo/Rava Laddu is one of the easiest sweet that can be made in less time at home.My mother used to make it very often at home during diwali season.I love the coarse version of the ladoo and not the powdered form of ladoo.HH loves these ladoos and it is his favourite sweet too..So I do make it very often at home when guests visit us...I love the white colour of the ladoo. It is one of the best homemade sweet delicacies...
