When I run out of Dosa/Idli batter this is the one that I prefer the most.It is very easy and also fast to make.I hate being at kitchen for long hours.So I prefer cooking the items which are fast,delicious and also healthy.
For a breakfast or a dinner this is the best one accompanied with some kara chutney (will be posting the recipe of it soon).The method of making is similar to that of the rava idly with a slight variations in the ingredients..

1.Powder the oats into fine powder.
2.Dry roast the wheat rawa in a pan.
3.In a wide bowl add the powdered oats,dry roasted wheat rava and keep it aside.
4.In a pan add one tsp of oil,after the oil gets heated add mustard seeds,channa dal,hing,green chillies and saute well.
5.Then add the grated carrot and other vegetables if any and saute it well.
6.Then add all the sauted items to the oats and rava mixture.
7.Add chopped coriander,salt,cooking soda and mix well.(The cooking soda gives the porous appearance to the idly.So don't skip it)
8.The consistency should be like a idly batter.
9.Mix well and leave it aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
10.Add water little by little and make it like a idly batter.
11.Pour it in a idly steamer and steam cook it for 10 minutes or more accordingly.
12.Serve it with hot tomato chutney or with Kara chutney.
